Many of the Largest Technology Companies in the World Have Chosen SafeLogic as their FIPS Partner
Originally established as Bit9, Carbon Black was acquired in 2014 and the combined company was rebranded in early 2016. Now they have embraced the public sector and earned FIPS 140-2 validation on their way to a NASDAQ initial public offering. They have risen to the upper echelon of cybersecurity and are among the most respected companies in the industry with their fusion of Cloud and Big Data and security technologies. They created the application control and endpoint detection and response (EDR) categories, and pioneered next-generation antivirus. We are very proud to partner with Carbon Black!
Aligned with their public announcement of FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic capabilities, Carbon Black invited SafeLogic founder Ray Potter to publish a blog post on their site. Titled "What Is FIPS 140-2 & Why Does It Matter?", Potter explained some background on the program, the strategy behind the partnership, and the relevance of the validation. It is a strong primer for anyone hoping to understand FIPS 140 or learning why Carbon Black chose SafeLogic.
In August 2019, VMware announced their acquisition of Carbon Black for an estimated $2.1 billion USD. It has been very exciting to watch and participate in the integration of Carbon Black's team and products into the VMware family!
