SafeLogic Collaborates with Intel Security for Cloud Security World Presentation on FedRAMP

SafeLogic CEO Ray Potter Will Lead Encryption Startup’s Delegation to Cloud Conference in New Orleans

Palo Alto, CA – May 13, 2015 – SafeLogic, the company re-inventing how encryption is delivered, is proud to be participating in MIS Training Institute’s Cloud Security World conference in New Orleans this month. In addition to sponsoring the prestigious event, SafeLogic’s CEO Ray Potter will be speaking in two sessions.

RayLogoCloudSecurityWorldFirst, Potter and Intel Security’s Group Product Manager, David Gerendas, will present ‘Amped for FedRAMP’ on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 2:15 PM local time. This talk focuses on the often misunderstood Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), which provides security benchmarking for Cloud environments in US Federal deployments and has grown increasingly important to private enterprises. With their combined experience and thought leadership, it promises to be a crucial session for attendees who are interested in the compliance standards that differentiate today’s top platforms.

Attendees will learn:

  •     What FedRAMP compliance entails
  •     Advantages of using a validated cryptographic module in the cloud
  •     How encryption modules become validated and the pitfalls of the process
  •     Meaning of FedRAMP compliance claims and how to confirm
  •     Right questions to ask vendors about their encryption and FedRAMP compliance

“As with many independent benchmarks, we are seeing a rapid shift. Vendors used to solely pursue certification in order to meet federal requirements, but now they have recognized that the private sector is placing a great deal of value on third party assessments as part of their buying process,” noted Ray Potter, SafeLogic’s CEO. “FedRAMP compliance, in particular, demonstrates a high level of commitment to data security in the Cloud and warrants a deeper understanding from our community. Needless to say, I’m amped to be presenting expertise on the topic with my good friend, David Gerendas.”

In addition, Potter will be sitting on a cross-track panel moderated by Andrew Hay, the Senior Security Research Lead & Evangelist at OpenDNS and conference chair. This session is titled ‘What’s New, What’s True and What’s Coming Down the Pike’ and is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 4:00 PM local time. Potter and the other panelists will share with Hay their thoughts on what’s really happening in the Cloud security landscape, as well as what the future holds.
