Raytheon Technologies was formed in 2020 as the "merger of equals" between Raytheon and United Technologies. SafeLogic has history with both, which makes the combined company extra interesting to us!

The merger yielded one of the world's largest aerospace and defense companies, combining for nearly 200,000 employees and almost $75 billion in 2019 net sales, even after being forced to spin out the Otis and Carrier divisions (formerly of United Technologies) to satisfy regulatory requirements. In another master stroke, both Raytheon and United Technologies sold off other business units for $2.2 billion to BAE Systems before closing.

Raytheon Technologies has four divisions:

  • Collins Aerospace Systems - aerostructures, avionics, interiors, mechanical systems, mission systems and power controls across commercial, regional, business aviation and military sectors.
  • Pratt & Whitney - design, manufacture, and service for aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems for commercial, military and business aircraft, including the F-35 program.
  • Raytheon Intelligence & Space - development of advanced sensors, training and cyber and software solutions.
  • Raytheon Missiles & Defense - solutions for the detection, tracking and engagement of threats.
