SafeLogic and OpenSSL Corporation Announce Commercial Partnership to Expand Access to FIPS 140-3 and Cryptographic Support

Commercial Partnership creates a streamlined path for organizations with complex cryptographic, compliance, testing, and deployment requirements

Vienna, VA and Newark, DE — October 13, 2026 — SafeLogic, a provider of FIPS-validated cryptographic software and cryptographic compliance solutions, and OpenSSL Corporation, the official commercial arm of the OpenSSL Project, today announced a Commercial Partnership designed to help organizations more easily access the cryptographic expertise, support, and solutions that best fit their requirements.

Through the Commercial Partnership, OpenSSL Corporation can connect organizations with SafeLogic when their needs extend into areas such as FIPS certification support spanning multiple cryptographic libraries, CAVP and ESV testing, custom binary builds across heterogenous operating environments, or U.S. government procurement requirements.

Expanding Options for Organizations with Complex Cryptographic Requirements

OpenSSL is foundational to an enormous range of commercial and government technology. But organizations deploying cryptography often face requirements that extend beyond the underlying library itself.

FIPS 140-3 compliance, operating environment requirements, cryptographic testing, government procurement, custom builds, and long-term cryptographic lifecycle management can introduce additional complexity.

The Commercial Partnership gives OpenSSL Corporation and SafeLogic a defined framework for directing customers to the organization best positioned to address those needs.

“OpenSSL is at the foundation of so many of the products and systems our customers are building, which makes this partnership a natural extension of the work SafeLogic has been doing for years,” said Evgeny Gervis, CEO of SafeLogic. “When organizations need to take OpenSSL-based cryptography into regulated, government, highly customized, multi-platform, or multi cryptographic library environments, we can help them navigate and simplify otherwise complex FIPS, testing, deployment, and compliance requirements.”

Building on an Established Relationship

The Commercial Partnership builds on an existing relationship between SafeLogic and OpenSSL that dates back to a 2022 agreement enabling SafeLogic to serve as a value-added reseller of OpenSSL extended support services.

SafeLogic has extensive experience helping software vendors, technology providers, government contractors, and enterprises integrate validated cryptography into their products and environments. Its CryptoComply™ family of cryptographic software provides FIPS 140-3 validated cryptography across a broad range of development frameworks, platforms, and operating environments, with additional capabilities supporting post-quantum cryptography and crypto-agility. More recently, SafeLogic launched SafeLogic CPM™, a Cryptographic Posture Management platform that helps organizations discover cryptography across their environments, understand and prioritize cryptographic risk, accelerate remediation, and continuously govern cryptographic policy. By connecting discovery and inventory with business context and remediation, SafeLogic CPM provides organizations with a practical path toward crypto-agility and post-quantum readiness.

OpenSSL Corporation provides commercial support, engineering services, FIPS-related services, and other offerings for organizations that depend on the OpenSSL Library. The Corporation is the official commercial arm of the OpenSSL Project, and its commercial activities fund the majority of development work on the OpenSSL Library.

“Organizations using OpenSSL operate across an incredibly diverse set of technical and regulatory environments, and there are situations where their requirements go beyond the services we provide directly,” said Tim Hudson, President of OpenSSL Corporation. “This Commercial Partnership gives us a straightforward way to connect those organizations with SafeLogic when they need additional FIPS, testing, platform, or government-focused capabilities.

Helping Customers Find the Right Path

Under the Commercial Partnership, the organizations will remain independent while providing customers with a clearer path to the appropriate resources based on their specific requirements.

Examples include organizations that need:

  • Commercial support for the OpenSSL Library
  • FIPS 140-3 validated cryptography across multiple libraries or technology stacks
  • CAVP or ESV testing support
  • Custom cryptographic builds across operating environments
  • Support for U.S. government or comparable procurement requirements
  • Specialized assistance deploying cryptography in regulated environments

Rather than forcing customers to determine which organization can address a particular requirement on their own, the Commercial Partnership creates a more direct route to the appropriate expertise.

Looking Ahead

Cryptographic requirements are evolving rapidly as organizations simultaneously navigate the transition to FIPS 140-3, modernization of existing cryptographic infrastructure, and preparation for post-quantum cryptography.

SafeLogic and OpenSSL Corporation share a goal of helping organizations deploy cryptography securely and successfully while reducing unnecessary complexity along the way.

The new partnership formalizes another way the two organizations can help customers identify the right technical and commercial path for their particular environment.
