SafeLogic and AWS entered into an agreement to bring CryptoComply based on AWS-LC to SafeLogic software suite. By adding FIPS 140-3 certification, enterprise support, and compliance services, organizations can adopt a high-performance open-source crypto library without the usual certification and maintenance burden.
As organizations continue to modernize their infrastructure and adopt open-source cryptography, one challenge consistently surfaces: how to combine performance and cloud flexibility with the assurance required in regulated environments.
To help address this challenge, SafeLogic has entered into an agreement to provide enterprise support and FIPS 140 certification services for CryptoComply based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Libcrypto (AWS-LC). AWS-LC is a general-purpose cryptographic library maintained by the AWS Cryptography team for AWS and its customers. It is based on code from the BoringSSL and OpenSSL projects.
Bridging the Gap Between Open Source and Compliance
AWS-LC is widely recognized for its performance, security, and portability. Purpose-built for modern applications, it plays a critical role in securing everything from TLS connections to digital signatures and encryption workflows.
But for many organizations —particularly those in government, defense, financial services, and healthcare—adopting even the most advanced cryptographic libraries isn’t just about performance. It’s about validation, supportability, and long-term lifecycle management.
That’s where SafeLogic comes in.
By incorporating AWS-LC into the SafeLogic CryptoComply software and supporting it through RapidCert and MaintainCert services, SafeLogic helps organizations deploy validated cryptography in their products and services. SafeLogic helps organizations obtain their own FIPS certificate and provides the enterprise support and lifecycle management needed for long-term use in highly regulated sectors. Key benefits include:
Enabling FIPS 140-3 Certification for CryptoComply AWS-LC
A key component of this agreement is the ability for customers to pursue FIPS 140-3 certification using AWS-LC—in their company’s name in under 3 months.
SafeLogic will provide end-to-end certification support.
These capabilities are critical for organizations navigating federal procurement requirements and compliance frameworks such as Common Criteria, FedRAMP, and GovCloud.
Enterprise Support for Production Deployments
Beyond certification, this agreement introduces enterprise-grade software support for CryptoComply AWS-LC deployments in production environments. This includes support for complex deployment scenarios and guidance for integrating CryptoComply AWS-LC into modern application stacks.
Just as importantly, SafeLogic is extending its expertise into emerging areas such as post-quantum cryptography (PQC). Organizations using CryptoComply AWS-LC will have access to support for ML-KEM, a NIST-standardized post-quantum key encapsulation algorithm that gives them a path to begin transitioning to quantum-resistant cryptography without waiting to replace their entire existing infrastructure.
Supporting the Future of Secure Cloud Development
The rise of cloud-native development and open-source software has fundamentally changed how applications are built. CryptoComply AWS-LC reflects this shift, offering a modern foundation for secure, high-performance cryptography.
With SafeLogic’s support and certification services layered on top, organizations no longer have to choose between innovation and compliance.
They can have both.
“Our mission at SafeLogic is to make it easier for organizations to use powerful cryptographic libraries, support PQC, and obtain their own FIPS validation certificate to accelerate deployments in regulated environments,” said CEO Evgeny Gervis.
A Faster Path to Validated AWS-LC Deployments
At its core, this collaboration is about reducing friction.
Reducing friction between open-source innovation and regulatory compliance. Reducing friction between performance and assurance. Reducing friction between today’s deployments and tomorrow’s cryptographic realities.
By bringing together AWS-LC and SafeLogic’s deep expertise in certification, entropy validation, and crypto-agility, we’re helping organizations move faster without compromising on trust. To learn more, speak with a cryptography expert.
